A petition created by Fife based genealogist Janet Bishop is now online asking the Roman Catholic Church in Scotland to keep its resources centralised in Edinburgh and in the care of a dedicated archivist, rather than to have it dispersed across the country.
To sign the petition visit www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/the-roman-catholic-church-in-scotland-keep-the-scottish-catholic-archives-in-edinburgh-2?utm_medium=email&utm_source=share_petition
For the background to all of this, read recent developments at http://britishgenes.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/shock-closure-of-scottish-catholic.html
(With thanks to Bruce Bishop)
UPDATE: In less then 24 hours, the initial target of a hundred signatures has already been reached. Thanks to all, but please spread the word to help get it to 200!
