Following the upload of the 1841 Scottish census to FamilySearch (www.familysearch.org) four days ago, the 1851 census for the country has now also been placed on the site. As with 1841, there appears to be no link to the FindmyPast site (www.findmypast.co.uk) from each entry, the original supplier of the transcribed records.
For the respective merits of access via both FamilySearch and FindmyPast see my previous post at http://britishgenes.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/1841-scottish-census-on-familysearch.html.
NB: Bear in mind that both the 1841 and 1851 Scottish censuses are well represented on FreeCEN (www.freecen.org.uk), contrasting with the records from England and Wales, for which the site has started much later with entries from 1891. These transcripts are much more complete and also free to access.
